David Slone continues to monitor the auto industry to keep up to date on the latest trends in the United States and overseas. Slone says that despite the overall U.S. economic slump of 2008, Subaru has weathered the storm and surpassed many of its competitors through creative marketing and development campaigns.
Q: In which direction does it appear Subaru management has placed its focus?
David Slone: Subaru has experienced tremendous growth. In the past five years, Subaru has seen the most powerful results in the United States and is well on its way to 500,000 vehicles sold annually in the US. As a spacious and comfortable vehicle, the Subaru is a perfect fit for the active lifestyles of Americans today.
Q: To what can Subaru attribute their recent run of success?
David Slone: It’s a combination of business acumen, foresight and brilliant execution from the company’s top leaders. I also think it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, Subaru has beautiful, reasonably priced AWD vehicles that have captured the hearts of their owners in ways have caused some to claim that “they have an almost cult following”.
